In August 2014, the Indonesian Ministry of Public Works issued a tender for the implementation of potable water supply systems in areas with limited or no access to safe drinking water.
The project’s general contracting was awarded to Fővárosi Vízművek Zrt. (Budapest Waterworks), which executed the works in cooperation with a consortium formed with an Indonesian water treatment company. As part of the project, high-capacity water pumping systems and associated turnkey water treatment plants were installed across 36 sites on 3 islands (Sumatra, Java, and the East Nusa Tenggara region), spanning multiple locations throughout Indonesia.
Körös Consult Ltd. participated in the project as the consortium’s exclusive Hungarian subcontractor and supplier. The scope of their work included:
- Design of complete water treatment process automation systems
- Design of electrical control panels
- Active involvement in the engineering of supplied equipment and water treatment technology, including selection of components
- Procurement and delivery of equipment to Indonesia
- Technical support for the installation and integration of delivered equipment
- Full commissioning of the Hungarian-supplied systems
- Design, installation, and commissioning of photovoltaic solar power systems at 5 locations
